What this site is
FinCalculate publishes free financial calculators and the written methodology behind them. It is an educational reference. It is not a financial adviser, lender, broker, tax preparer or insurance agent, and it does not offer, arrange or recommend any financial product.
No advice, and no relationship
Nothing on this site is financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and using it creates no professional or fiduciary relationship between you and us. The calculators apply general formulas to figures you supply. They know nothing about your circumstances, your risk tolerance, your other commitments or the rules of your jurisdiction. Before acting on anything here, check it with someone qualified to review your situation. See the full disclaimer.
Accuracy, and its limits
We build these calculators carefully. The arithmetic engine is covered by unit tests that assert exact figures, every page states what its model assumes, and tax treatment links to the primary publication it came from. That is a real standard, and it is still not a warranty.
The site is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability. Models are simplifications; rates, tax rules and thresholds change; and figures a lender, servicer or tax preparer quotes you will differ from these. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, this site.
If you believe a calculator is wrong, please tell us at hello@fincalculate.info. We would rather fix it than defend it, and corrections are dated on the page they affect.
Using the calculators and their results
You may use the calculators freely, including for work, and you may share result links and exported CSV files however you like. You may quote figures and cite the methodology with attribution and a link to the page you took them from.
You may not scrape the site at a volume that degrades it for others, republish the written methodology or FAQ content wholesale, present the calculators as your own, or use the site in a way that breaks the law or interferes with its operation. The site's text, design and code remain ours.
Advertising
This site carries advertising, which is what pays for it. We do not choose or endorse the ads shown, we are not party to any dealing between you and an advertiser, and an ad appearing here is not a recommendation. What advertising collects is described in the privacy policy.
Availability and changes
We may change, add or withdraw calculators, and may update these terms. Changes take effect when posted, and the review date above will change with them. Where a calculator's model changes materially, the change is noted on that page.
Governing terms
Nothing here limits any right you have that cannot be limited by law, including consumer rights in your jurisdiction. If any provision of these terms is unenforceable, the rest continue to apply.
